For countering this issue, the ink level of the printer has to be set for reflecting the right amount of ink in the cartridges. The control panel of the printer has to be used for the same. One of the major issues that are likely to hamper the functioning of Kodak printers is when a cartridge is low on ink and the message of “Out of Ink” is displayed by the printer. In such a case, the printer will stop printing and the cartridge has to be refilled to resume its working. The cartridge has to be reset for overriding the message of “Out of Ink” and starting the printing again. For this purpose, you have to use special ink cartridge chip resetters, which inform that the cartridge is full even if is empty. Here are the steps to follow:

  • Open the cover of the printer and remove the cartridges.
  • Use a cotton ball immersed in rubbing alcohol to wipe the cartridges clean and remove all the ink traces from metal connectors. Let the rubbing alcohol dry which it will in a minute or so.
  • Now insert the cartridge in the chip resetter.
  • There is a button on the resetter’s top which has to be pressed and held down for 3 seconds for resetting the ink counter. When the cartridge is reset, it will be indicated by a green light.
  • Again the cartridge has to be removed from the resetter and inserted back in the printer. Now the printer will consider the cartridge to be full and start printing as usual.
